From UPSC Aspirant to Homestay Host: Returning to My Roots

Life has a way of shaping our journeys in unexpected ways. As an ex-UPSC aspirant, I was driven by a passion to serve and make a difference. After chasing big dreams in the city and facing life's ups and downs, including my 4-year long UPSC journey, I returned to my roots.
When you come from a small town, big cities have an unexplainable charm. I left Ramnagar, a small town near Corbett, thinking I was escaping a lack of opportunities and a slow life. My friends told me how lucky I was to live amidst nature, but I didn't really get it then.
When COVID-19 brought me back to Ramnagar, family responsibilities led to a pivotal shift. Rediscovering the beauty of simple, rural life inspired me to open my ancestral farm as a homestay.
Returning home opened my eyes to the untapped potential of our rural communities. I embraced this opportunity to contribute locally, working closely with the people of Ramnagar to foster sustainable initiatives and preserve our rich culture.
Today, I run a homestay on my ancestral farmland, promoting authentic rural experiences, wildlife, and supporting local livelihoods. My mission? Transforming small-town aspirations into big changes.
If you're looking to disconnect from the world, be close to nature, and enjoy a simple life, I personally invite you to Atithi Stays. As the saying goes, 'Thoda hai, thode ki jarurat hai.'
